How to protect your iPhone with a Passcode (password)

Usually a mobile phone is a “personal” belonging that only you should have access to. You won’t want others to read your mail, messages, notes and other personal stuff. That is why most mobile phones have an option to restrict your phone with a passcode or as it is called “Passcode (Password) Protection”. There is such an option in iPhones too. To do it go to Settings on your main screen.

Than tap on General next.

Tap on General

So now, scroll down until you see Passcode Lock. It is probably off. Tap on Passcode Lock.

Tap on Passcode Lock to set it ON

After you tap on Passcode Lock, you will be directed to the screen where you turn on your Passcode. There is an option saying Simple passcode. If it is ON than your passcode will be a simple 4 digit number, but on the other hand if it is OFF; you can write anything you want in the passcode. Tap on Turn Passcode On.

Tap Turn Passcode On to get started

Now you will be asked for a passcode 2 times. And as usual the second time is for confirmation. If you make a mistake in the first one or second one, meaning the passcodes did not match, you will get the screen to write your passcode again saying: “Passcodes did not match. Try Again.”. And when you do it right it is done. Now you can lock your iPhone, and when trying to unlock it will ask you for a passcode.

Enter Passcode

Repeat Password
